Saturday Afternoon Swims

Joe Kyle Bushta showed his new and improved backstroke with a quick triple best swim in his shining 100 backstroke (13.66)(29.08)(101.18). Joe Kyle’s 100 back earned swim of the session!

Cat Donlon swam close to her best times this season with some improved breaststroke technique.

Nico Lastauskas continued his impressive performances headed up by his 1:00 cracking best 100 fly (59.44)(13.20-28.21 splits).

Katie Voitik swam to her season best 200 free and close to her 50 free.

Aviah Dahlgren showed off her blazing speed leading off her 200 free with a best 25, 50, and 100 (14.38, 30.07, 103.57). She then went on to catapult herself to a triple best 100 back (17.08, 36.10, 116.31). In her beautiful 50 fly, Aviah earned a double best and sliced off almost 5 seconds from her best 50 (14.71)(33.99). Aviah then time trialed her 100 free, knocking off another second from her 200 split (102.72) and beating her 25 (14.29). Aviah earned swimmer of the session for her strong swims!

James Stanco fought off his early jitters to rise himself higher to see sone great sights. He earned a best 25 (16), 50 (34.86), 100 (119.23) and 200 (257.51), knocking off 11 seconds from his previous best! He then got up to swim some powerful fly to earn a double best (17.40)(41.11). In his final event of the day, Stormin Stanco catapulted himself to a first place finish in his heat and a double best 50 free (15.36)(32.70).

200 Free
Haley Thier rang up the first of the Lifetime Best Swims of the morning session with a solid 2:13.62 time in the 200 Freestyle. Haley cut off almost 4 seconds from her previous best she recorded from her split going out in the 500 the night before, when she had bettered her old best by 3 seconds.

Haley 14.24, 30.51, 1:04.68, 34.17, 34.46, 34.48, 1:08.94 – 2:13.62

Peyton McNulty showed her strength again in the Freestyle, this time posting a 2:07.84 for her 200. A drop of almost 2.5 seconds grabbing a third place finish.

Peyton – 14.04, 29.70, 1:02.28, 32.58, 33.36, 32.20, 1:05.56- 2:07.84

Taormina “The Thunder” Moore sliced a half of second off her old best today in the 100 Back tallying up a new best of 2:06.34.

Brenna “Blazing Backstroke” Dahlgren showed her smoothness of finesse when she stroked to a 13 second time drop popping off a 1:34.33.

Peyton “Please let me swim Backstroke More” McNulty shot down a Senior Cut in her swim with a win and a new best of 1:03.23 for a new best by over .5 seconds. Comgrats!

Brenna “Buzzin Breastsroker” Dahlgren lit it up again in the 100 Breaststroke cracking the 2:00 barrier and dropping 12 seconds to pullout a 1:48.45 PR.

Haley Thier cracked her own barrier as well when she crept under the 3:00 mark in her 200 Breaststroke with a 2:58.98 when she also dropped 8 seconds.

Alyssa “Always Kickin” Kelly stormed to a new best 50 Free with a new Personal Best time of 36.67 going out in a 17.38.

Time Trial 50’s

Haley “Time Trial” Thier stuck another Best time up in the 50 Free dropping .4 to go a 27.37 PR and 13.11 LTB going out.

Brenna ‘Be the Backstroke” Dahlgren swam 2 bests in her 50 Back with a 21.38, 42.55.

Alyssa “Hard Boiled Egg” Kelly kicked it up in her 50 Breaststroke with 2 Bests of 23.83, and 52.54.

Haley Thier was swimmer of the session while Peyton McNulty grabbed the swim of the session for her Senior Cut 100 Backstroke.

FRIDAY NIGHT AT FELIX FIESTA

Friday Night at Felix Fiesta
Alyssa Kelly tackled her first event of the meet with a 39 second drop in her 200 IM (311.28), re-breakng her best and BDA record, also earning her best 50 fly going out (41.56) by 4 seconds and her best 25 fly (18.39). In this swim, Alyssa broke Vanessa Lempicky’s 25 and 50 fly records, along with her own 200 IM record! Brenna Dahlgren also went on to knock 42 seconds off her best IM time, also knocking 3 seconds off her previous best 50 fly too (51.21)(330.08). Taorimina finished her 200 IM strong.
Katie Voitik swam a strong 400 IM (453.55).
Haley Their clobbered her best 400 IM by 24 seconds (5:15.49). Peyton McNulty swam close to her best IM.
Aviah Dahlgren cruised to a 10 second drop in her 400 IM (553.72).
Nico Lastauskas raced to a new best 400 IM and win in the event showing off his speed and endurance (424.29). Kyle Bushta touched 4th with a 5 second drop of his own in a nice swim for himself (445.08).
In the 500 free, Alyssa “long distance extraordinaire” Kelly went on to earn a best 200 (254.36) cracking 3:00, and then went 11 seconds better than her last 500 free time (735.99) to re-break both 8 and under records in the event. Brenna “first time 500 in a meet” Dahlgren showed her best with a new best 200 free (322.29) by 35 seconds, and a first and best 500 free time (842.84). Alyssa and Brenna went first and second in their age groups in the 500.
Peyton swam to an 11 second drop in her beautiful 500 (533.86), going out in a 211, close to her best 200 free. She won the 500 for her age group in sensational fashion.
Haley Their earned her best 200 going out (217.51), while capturing a 19 second drop in a spectacular swim of her own (554.68). Haley picked up a 6th place finish in the 13-14 age group.
Nico Lastauskas and Kyle Bushta went first and second for their age groups in the 500 as well, just slightly off their bests. Katie Voitik swam to a first place finish just off her best too.

ALYSSA “RECORD BREAKNG” KELLY EARNED SWIMMER OF THE SESSION FOR HER CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVING EFFORTS AND RECORD BREAKING PERFORMANCES~! HALEY THIER WAS RUNNER UP FOR SWIMMER OF THE SESSION WITH HER 2 STRONG PERFORMANCES AND 3 BEST TIMES!

Hey everyone! Here’s the practice schedule this week, along with the attendance. Looking forward to some great swims at West Nyack this weekend! We will let you know individually if the practice schedule for this week will change due to the meet this weekend. We will also discuss shaving for the meet this week too!

*Meet fees will be $25 each for Saturday and Sunday- BDA will cover Friday night’s events. Please bring in meet fees by Wednesday evening.
